Key details
What the excursion is like
The plan is the same on all four: head out for the pilot whales, stop to swim below the cliffs or in Masca bay, then return along Los Gigantes. Everything else changes. With kids, the big boat with an underwater viewing deck and food on board handles the three hours better. As a couple, the twelve-person boat or the ten-person sailing yacht changes the feel entirely: on the big one you watch the whale with fifty people around you. And if you just want to see them without spending more, the two-hour trip does the job. Tell us who you are going with and we will tell you which.
Nashira Uno — 3h excursion with meal
The family one: 52 seats, an underwater viewing deck below and a 20-25 minute swim stop in Masca bay. Includes a meal on board (rice with vegetables, chicken and fruit, vegan or vegetarian served separately) and two drinks. The one that best handles a long day with kids.
Gladiator U — 2h excursion with drink
The balanced one: the sighting plus a 10-15 minute swim stop below the cliffs, one drink included. If you just want to see the whales and head back, this does the job without overspending.
Inia — 2h excursion with drink, small group
The small-group one: 12 people maximum, with a 10-15 minute swim stop and a drink. The difference shows during the sighting: no fighting for a spot at the rail.
Lady Elsie — 3h excursion on an exclusive sailboat
The sailing yacht: just 10 people, a 20-25 minute swim stop with snorkel gear included, drinks and fruit on board. The most expensive, and the one couples pick.

How to get there
They all leave from Los Gigantes marina, on the west coast, and that is the part people underestimate. From Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas or Costa Adeje allow 90 minutes; from Santa Cruz, Puerto de la Cruz or La Laguna, two hours. The marina car park is public, paid and fills up, so do not leave it to the last quarter of an hour: missing the boat over parking is the silliest way to miss it.

Frequently asked questions
Which boat should I choose?
It depends who you are going with. Nashira Uno if you have kids or want to eat on board; Gladiator U if you just want to see the whales without paying more; Inia if you prefer a group of twelve rather than fifty; Lady Elsie if you are a couple and fancy a ten-person sailing yacht.
Is the sighting guaranteed?
You almost always see them, but we will not guarantee it in writing and you should distrust anyone who does: these are wild animals. What is true is that the pilot whales on this coast are resident and do not migrate, so the odds are high in any month. Dolphins are more fickle: they show up many days, but not every day.
How is the booking confirmed?
Naventia Trips checks availability, provider conditions and the traveller's level before confirming the experience.
Can you tell me what else to do on those days?
Yes, and it is what we get asked most. Tell us which days you have free and where you are staying, and we will say what pairs well with this excursion and what should not go on the same day.
