Coming as a couple, alone or with friends: which format suits me?
As a couple, semi-private is the bargain of the catalogue: €95 per person for 2 h, €270 for 6 h and €399 for 10 h, sharing gear and taking turns. It sounds like half the water time, but in wingfoil you rest every few minutes in the first days, so you barely notice. With friends or alone, the group course at Granadilla harbour (€169 for 3 h, €330 for 6 h, €480 for 9 h) has up to five students, gear for each, flat water and transport from the centre included: it's where the foil lifts fastest. Private (€169 for 2 h, €449 for 6 h, €699 for 10 h) is for those who want their own pace or have very few days. If you already fly, improver lessons with premium gear cost €99 an hour, €175 for 2 h and €499 for 6 h.
Rental: with an hour of lessons first, no exceptions
The centre won't hand a foil to anyone who hasn't flown before or done at least an hour of lessons with them, and it's not about selling lessons: a badly handled foil hurts. Once that's covered, the full set (Duotone wing, board and foil, with swaps during your stay) costs €115 a day, €265 for three days, €495 a week and €750 for two weeks; a week works out at about €70 a day. If you bring your wing, the board with foil alone is 30% cheaper, and the other way round too. With two people and one set, double use (+25%) is cheaper than two rentals, and in wingfoil, as on the course, taking turns is natural.
When wingfoil isn't worth it (and when it is)
It's not worth it if you only have one day: in 3 h you learn to handle the wing standing on the board, but really lifting the foil usually takes the second or third session, and you'd leave feeling you'd stopped halfway. Nor if you expect speed and jumps from day one — that's kitesurfing. And if falling many times puts you off, eFoil gives you the same flying sensation with a motor and an instructor beside you. Where it does pay off: you have three days, you come as a couple or a group, and you want something that on a short holiday actually gets you flying. And an honest warning: wingfoil is addictive, and next time you'll arrive with the gear in your suitcase.

Cancellation & conditions
Up to 48 h before, you cancel at no cost. If there's no wind on the booked day, the session is moved to another day of your trip; that's why we ask you not to book it for the end of your stay. If there's no room left, we review it with the centre case by case.

Frequently asked questions
How many sessions until I fly?
The first session is handling the wing on the board without the foil or without lifting it; the first flights usually come in the second or third. That's why the group course is sold as 6 or 9 h (two or three days) and the standalone 3 h are just for trying it.
Why is the group course in a harbour and not on the beach?
Because the foil wants flat water: on El Médano beach the waves knock you off every time the foil starts to rise. In Granadilla harbour you learn sooner with fewer knocks. The van from the centre is included.
Wingfoil or kitesurf if I can only do one?
Wingfoil if you have two or three days, come with someone and prefer flat water: it takes fewer hours to learn and the gear fits in a car. Kite if you have four days or more and what you want is power and jumps.
Is the foil dangerous?
The foil is a sharp piece under the board, which is why lessons include helmet and vest and the centre won't rent without at least an hour of lessons. With an instructor and flat water, falls are into the water and away from the foil.
Is there a minimum age?
The centre doesn't publish a figure. Handling the wing takes some arm strength and gear is chosen by weight; with teenagers it usually works, with small children it doesn't. Tell us age and weight and we check.
What if there's no wind on course day?
It's moved to another day of your trip at no cost. Wing needs less wind than windsurfing to get started, so lost days are few; even so, book the course for the start of your stay.
Do you pay the centre less and charge me the same?
You pay exactly what Duotone publishes on its website; our share comes out of that, not from a surcharge. That's why we can tell you without conflict that semi-private suits you better than private, even though it's cheaper.
Where should I stay?
In El Médano if you're doing several days: the centre is on the beach promenade and times are known the day before. For the group course it doesn't matter, because the van to Granadilla leaves from the centre.
