Buggy Tour Teide

Buggy if you want to drive yourselves and there are two or more of you per vehicle: you pay for the buggy, not the person, and with four on board it is €62.50 each. Quad if you are alone or a couple and prefer to straddle it in the open air. Jeep safari if nobody wants to drive or there are small children or grandparents: there the guide drives. With an expired licence or one under two years old, the jeep is the only option.

€200 for the 2-seater buggy, €250 for the 4-seater and €360 for the 6-seater, with guide, briefing, basic insurance and pickup. On top of that there is a security deposit for the vehicle, returned if you hand it back undamaged, and meals. When booking you pay a deposit and the rest at the King Buggy office on the day of the route; we give you the exact amounts on confirmation.

Only from the driver: a category B licence held for at least two years, and the physical card — a photo or copy does not count, except for Spanish nationals. It is the first thing they check at the office, so if your licence is recent or you left it at home, better to know before booking than in Las Chafiras.

Yes, and it is one of the few motor activities where they fit: from age 3 in the 4-seater and from 1.35 m tall in the 2-seater. They ride as passengers with a seat belt and a roll cage. What you need to weigh up is the route: the 3-hour Offroad is bumpier; the Teide one has more road and more cold. With small children, the morning Teide + Offroad is usually the right one.

If you want dirt and dust, the 3-hour Offroad, mornings only. If you want both — the Teide scenery and a stretch of tracks — Teide + Offroad, 4 hours, the most complete. If you are after the photo, Sunset + Teide, 3 hours at dusk with no off-road section. The one we recommend least to anyone who has already been up Teide by coach is the Sunset: it repeats the scenery without the dirt part.

Morning: departure at 9:00 with pickup at 8:20. Afternoon: 14:45 to 18:45, pickup at 14:00. Sunset: pickup at 18:00, adjusted to sunset time. Pickup is included, but King Buggy covers a specific area of the south, not the whole island: tell us where you are staying and we confirm whether they reach you or whether it is better to go to their office in Las Chafiras.

If nobody in the group has held a licence for two years, if bumps make you queasy, or if you are going to do Teide by coach or on foot on the same trip and choose the Sunset route: you will see the same park twice. And in winter, if you do not bring proper warm clothes: at 2,300 metres in an open vehicle the cold is unforgiving.

Closed shoes, compulsory for the driver; clothes you do not mind getting dusty; sunglasses; and a jacket even if it is hot on the coast: the route reaches 2,300 metres. If you wear contact lenses, watch out for the dust on the tracks.

We confirm the briefing language when you book, depending on the guide on your shift. With wind or rain at altitude, King Buggy may shorten the route or change the date; we send you their cancellation conditions in writing before you book, because they are not the catalogue’s standard ones.
