Tenerife from a unique perspective
It is the only activity in the catalogue that shows you something you cannot see any other way: Teide's crater from above, the Los Gigantes cliffs seen over the edge and the Masca gorge winding through the rock. From the ground you see walls; from the air you see the shape of the island, which is a volcano with slopes falling into the Atlantic on every side. Photos do not convey that, and it is what justifies the price.
They range from the 7-minute run along the south coast to the 40-minute route crossing the National Park, Los Gigantes, Garachico and the north. Here is the advice that saves us arguments: the 7 minutes almost always feels short and people come away feeling they paid to take off and land. If the budget allows, step up to a mid-length route. And if you already have a Teide day booked by road, pick a coast-and-cliffs route rather than the one repeating the volcano: you will see new things instead of the same from another angle.
It carries 2 to 4 passengers, so you fly privately and do not share the cabin with strangers. From age 5. Available routes
- South Coast Route (7 min) — €121/person: The shortest: La Caleta, Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos from the air, returning along the coast. It feels brief if this is your only flight.
- Beaches and Ravines Route (10 min) — €175/person: Adds relief to the previous one: over the Roque del Conde, Barranco del Infierno, Taucho and El Puertito. The first one that starts to feel worth it.
- Los Gigantes Route (18 min) — €325/person: The cliffs one: Costa Adeje, Puerto de Santiago and Los Gigantes, with Teide behind. If you only do one, this is probably it.
- Isla Baja Route (25 min) — €473/person: Towards the north-west: Alcalá, Santiago del Teide, the Teno massif, Buenavista del Norte and Garachico, returning over the Corona Forestal.
- Gran Teide Luxury Route (40 min) — €600/person: The full one, 40 minutes: Puerto de Santiago, Buenavista del Norte, Garachico, La Orotava, Güímar and back over the Corona Forestal and Vilaflor. Half the island in one flight.

Which route is really worth it?

How much does each one cost?
Per person: €121 for the 7 minutes along the south coasts, €175 for the 10 minutes of beaches and ravines, €325 for the 18 minutes to Los Gigantes, €473 for the 25 minutes of Isla Baja and €600 for the 40 minutes of the Gran Teide Luxury. It is an individual ticket on a flight of 2 to 4 passengers, not a whole helicopter.
Can you see Teide on every route?
No, and it is the most common confusion. The 7, 10 and 18-minute flights are coast, ravines and the cliffs of Los Gigantes; the 25-minute one reaches Isla Baja, in the north-west. The Teide crater from the air only comes with the 40-minute Gran Teide Luxury. If the volcano is what you want, it is that one or none.
When do we not recommend it?
If you get motion sickness easily in a car or on a boat: it is a short flight but with turns, and there is no way to get off early. If the budget only stretches to the 7 minutes: on this island, that money goes further on another activity. And if it is your only possible day and the forecast looks bad: the pilot does not fly in bad weather, and you end up with no flight and no plan.
Are there weight or age restrictions?
There are weight limits for safety and load distribution, which we confirm when booking depending on who is flying. Under-18s fly accompanied by an adult and it is recommended from age 5. There is no upper age limit for adults, but if you have a specific medical condition, tell us beforehand and we check with Helidream.
What if the weather is bad that day?
The pilot decides, and it is not up for debate: if the conditions are not right, there is no flight. In that case we reschedule you for another day of your stay or refund the full amount. That is why it is best not to leave it for your last day: if it is your only possible date and the weather fails, you miss the flight.
How long does it take in total?
More than the flight minutes: allow around an hour at the Adeje heliport for check-in, the safety briefing and waiting for your turn. The transfer is not included, but the heliport is next to Golf Costa Adeje, minutes from the hotels in the south. We give you the reporting time on confirmation.
Can I give it as a surprise?
Yes, and it is half of what we get asked for on this activity. We prepare a gift voucher and coordinate the details with Helidream so the other person does not find out until the moment. If it is a marriage proposal, tell us when booking: some routes work better than others for that and the pilot can help.
Is the price per person or per helicopter?
Per person, on a small-group flight of 2 to 4 passengers. If you want the whole helicopter for yourselves or there are more of you, we check with Helidream and send you the private price. For a proposal or an anniversary, the private option is usually worth it.
Can I film with my phone, and which language does the pilot speak?
Yes, phone or camera on board is fine; professional photos and video are a separate service. The briefing and the pilot’s commentary are in Spanish, English or French: tell us yours when booking.
